Position: Solar Plant Manager

Position Overview:
The Solar Plant Manager is responsible for leading the execution of all operations at the solar plant, including maintenance, engineering, procurement, human resources, public relations, and administrative functions. This role involves jointly managing the company's financial performance and driving group initiatives to meet and exceed key performance indicators.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Plant Performance Management
- Oversee all operational aspects of the power plant to ensure performance targets are met and compliance with the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and local regulations is maintained.
- Supervise all activities at the plant to achieve business objectives effectively.
Maintenance and Outage Management
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment reliability and availability.
- Promote a condition-based maintenance culture through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Forecast manpower, materials, and budget needs for effective electrical equipment maintenance and scheduled outages.
Inventory Management
- Prepare monthly and annual inventory requirements for equipment and materials to ensure resource availability for maintenance.
- Review and recommend improvements for inventory levels and specifications.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments (e.g., Solar O&M, Asset Management, Finance) and external stakeholders (e.g., power off-takers, regulatory bodies).
- Address critical technical issues promptly to ensure effective service delivery.
Contracts and Documentation Management
- Ensure timely renewal of plant permits, licenses, contracts, and insurances.
- Prepare operational reports, annual budgets, and operational plans for management and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain organized documentation on the company’s server.
Technical Support
- Serve as a subject matter expert in solar technology, offering insights for management and new project due diligence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer registration with the Board of Engineers.
- SEDA GCPV Certification.
- At least 8 years of experience in utility-scale solar PV project development, with 5 years in a management role.
- Knowledge of grid-connected PV installation and maintenance, as well as proficiency in tools like PVSyst and SolarGIS.
- Experience with MV electrical equipment operation and maintenance, and familiarity with power plant regulations and standards.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work during non-business hours for emergencies or breakdowns.
