Roles To provide assistance to superior on water and steam cycle chemistry monitoring, coal and ash analysis, Chemical Health Risk Assessment (“CHRA”) programme and providing Technical advice to Operations for Plant Auxiliary System, plant audit and reporting (“DOE”). Responsibilities and Duties 1. Water and steam cycle chemistry. a) To assist superior for performance and quality of Jimah Power Plant water and steam cycle chemistry. b) To assist superior on compliance with all the Plant operating procedures and standing instructions. c) To assist superior in co-ordinating and managing water and steam cycle chemistry programs. d) To assist superi or in establishing and implement the test methods for chemical analysis. e) To assist superior for equipment preservation during Plant outages. f) To assist superior in Boiler and plant chemical cleaning. 2. Coal and ash analysis. a) To assist superior in analysis associates with the coal and ash plant. 3. Operations for Plant Auxiliary System. a) Provide technical advice on the Water Treatment Plant (“WTP”). b) Provide technical advice on the Waste Water Treatment Plant (“WWTP”). c) Provide technical advice on the Electro Chlorination Plant (“ECP”). 4. Chemical Health Risk Assessment (“CHRA”) at JEV Power Plant a) Lead in preparing, reviewing and update the data analysis (“CHRA”, Health Surveillance). 5. Plant Audit and Data Reporting (“DOE”) a) Assist in Carry out the Plant Audit, Plant Inventory, Data Reporting (CEMS, Plant emissions), Analysis. 6. Chemical & Environment Services (“CES”) section task and activities a) Assist in preparing the budget implementation, forecasts and administration. b) Perform procurement related works such as raise Purchase Requisition (“PR”) and quotation enquiry. c) Perform ad-hoc assignments which may be assigned from time to time including activities in absent of CES engineer or technician. d) Lead in maintaining CES documentation (procedures, work instructions and records). e) Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence. f) To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time. Qualification and Competency (License) 1. Minimum Education Qualification required: a) Degree in Chemical Engineering or; b) Degree in Applied Science or equivalent from recognized universities / higher learning institutes. 2. Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required: a) Certified Environmental Professional in Bag Filter Operation (CcPBFO). b) Authorised Entrant & Stand by Person for Confined Space (AESP). 3. Minimum Optional requirement by DOE or added advantage: a) Certified Environmental Professional in The Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems – Physical Chemical Processes (“CePIETSO-PCP”). b) Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (“CePSWaM). Work Experience 1. Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope: a) Minimum 2 years’ working experience in laboratory or any related fields. 2. Work experiences required: a) Experience in laboratory environment. b) Experience in managing and leading a team of staff. c) Knowledgeable in Chemistry, Science Material and Water/Air Analysis. Skills and Behaviour Traits 1. Willingness to be available to work “on-call”. 2. Leadership, analysis and problem solving skills. 3. Effective time management, organizational, and interaction abilities. 4. Able to work independently and make sound judgment or decision. 5. Familiarity in Coal Fired Power Plant will be an added advantage. 6. Hands on with analytical skills. 7. Basic Computer literacy. 8. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 9. Able to work independently with minimum supervision. 10. Good communication skills. 11. Good verbal and written English.
