Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of co-living spaces through hands-on repairs, preventative maintenance, and renovation tasks. This role supports a collaborative living environment by responding to residents' maintenance requests, performing routine inspections, and executing renovation projects to upgrade the property.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, air-con, and mechanical systems.
- Address and resolve issues related to lighting, appliances, fixtures, and general wear and tear.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and management to ensure a comfortable living experience.
Renovation and Improvement Projects
- Assist in executing renovation projects to improve co-living spaces, including minor construction, painting, drywall, and carpentry.
- Collaborate with contractors on larger renovation projects as required, ensuring timely and quality completion of projects.
- Identify and recommend improvements to enhance space functionality, aesthetics, and resident satisfaction.
Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, common areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Maintain inventory of necessary tools and parts to ensure efficient repair response times.
- Keep up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair activities to facilitate long-term planning and budgeting.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially related to co-living environments.
- Regularly inspect and maintain fire alarm systems, safety lighting, emergency exits, and other safety equipment.
- Respond to emergencies, such as water leaks or power outages, to mitigate risks and minimize disruption to residents.
Resident Support and Communication
- Communicate professionally and courteously with operation team to understand maintenance needs and set realistic expectations.
- Provide updates on the progress of requested repairs and renovations.
- Support a positive and community-focused living environment by being a visible, accessible resource.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance, renovation, or facility management, ideally in a residential or co-living setting.
- Fresh graduated are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and maintenance.
- Ability to use and maintain a variety of power and hand tools safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
