Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Assist customers with locating products and answering inquiries. Provide information about promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Transaction Processing: Scan and ring up items accurately using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system. Process cash, credit, and debit transactions efficiently. Count cash in the register at the beginning and end of the shift to ensure accuracy. Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers as needed. Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions securely and accurately. Count cash drawers at the start and end of the shift to reconcile transactions. Maintain adequate change denominations to facilitate transactions. Follow cash handling procedures and security protocols to prevent theft and fraud. Checkout Area Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked. Arrange products neatly and remove any clutter or debris. Monitor and replenish supplies such as bags, receipt paper, and cleaning materials. Ensure all equipment, such as the cash register and card reader, is in working order. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to address issues and share information. Assist with other tasks as needed, such as stocking shelves, assisting with inventory, or helping in other departments.
