About the role

To ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for APAC countries, with a focus on Taiwan, while maintaining effective communication and adherence to statutory requirements in an outsourced payroll environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage the complete payroll process, including monthly and yearly cycles, and ideally support additional APAC countries.
  • Payroll Record Management: Update and maintain payroll records including joiners, leavers, and changes in master data.
  • Employee and Management Liaison: Address payroll-related queries from staff and management with precision.
  • Reporting: Ensure accurate monthly and yearly payroll reporting, including state authorities, tax offices, statutory pensions, and GL accounting data for Finance teams.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure timely statutory payments and filings, adhering to legal deadlines.
  • Internal Deliverables: Provide internal reporting, reconcile GL files, and ensure accuracy in all payroll-related documentation.
  • Allowances and Deductions: Process payroll-related allowances, deductions, bonuses, and merit cycles.
  • Payroll Interface Management: Handle importing/exporting of payroll interface files and resolve any issues.
  • Variable Wage Components: Manage variable wage components, including hours, bonuses, provisions, leaves, employee stock options, and expatriates' shadow payroll.
  • Financial and Operational Controls: Maintain financial controls in line with SOX requirements and manage operational aspects of outsourced payroll, including vendor performance and issue resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function and integrate employee-centric process changes.
  • Employee Query Management: Handle employee queries efficiently and professionally

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Fluency and proficiency in spoken and written Taiwanese Mandarin is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources / business administration or equivalent
  • 4+ years of payroll experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of payroll legislations and processes.
  • Understanding of international assignees' payroll (expatriates’ shadow payroll).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and numerical ability.
  • Experience in shared service center environments and on systems like Workday or ServiceNow.
  • Experience on payroll vendor changes projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and customer service.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines. Excellent organizational skills and a team-oriented approach.
