Position: Cafe Assistant
Location: Tanjung Tokong, Penang
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

About Us:

We are a warm, inviting space with a Japanese-inspired ambiance, serving a curated selection of drinks and pastries. We’re dedicated to quality, consistency, and creating a relaxing atmosphere for our guests. We’re looking for an experienced, proactive, and friendly Cafe Assistant to help keep our operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities: Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and high-quality service
  • Maintain a clean, cozy, and welcoming environment that reflects our Japanese-inspired vibe
  • Supervise opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and daily reconciliations
  • Support the team in providing warm, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service
  • Assist with training team members on cafe procedures and maintaining our quality standards

Inventory Management

  • Track inventory levels for all ingredients, supplies, and cafe products
  • Place and receive orders from suppliers, keeping stock levels balanced and minimizing waste
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate stock records
  • Work with suppliers to source high-quality products and manage costs
  • Keep storage areas organized, making it easy to access stock

Other Duties

  • Prepare and serve drinks and pastries as needed
  • Help plan and execute seasonal promotions or events
  • Address any customer inquiries or complaints with professionalism
  • Contribute ideas for improving cafe operations, products, and customer experience

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a cafe or food service role, with a focus on operations and inventory
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
