JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and independent Account Executive to oversee the full spectrum of accounting operations. This role involves managing the financial reporting process, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, and preparing tax filings in compliance with Malaysian regulations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in handling AP/AR functions, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidating financial statements across subsidiaries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements.
2. Perform AP/AR functions, including processing supplier invoices, payments, and receipts.
3. Ensure all transactions are properly recorded, including journal entries.
4. Handle monthly and year-end account closing processes with accuracy and timeliness.
5. Consolidate financial statements across subsidiaries.
6. Prepare intercompany reconciliations and manage staff claims.
7. Handle tax filings and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax laws, including SST and corporate tax.
8. Assist in preparing regulatory reports for government agencies and statutory bodies.
9. Provide support with company secretarial documentation matters.
10. Perform regular account reconciliations, including bank, receivables, and payables, ensuring accuracy.
11. Work independently with minimal supervision to manage all accounting operations.
12. Take ownership of accounting issues and resolve them promptly.
13. Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the reporting officer.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Knowledge and experience with MYOB/ABSS accounting software.
3. Minimum of 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting.
4. Familiarity with Malaysian taxation laws and e-invoicing, including SST filing.
5. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
1. Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa, with strong communication skills across diverse backgrounds.
2. Strong multi-tasking abilities, confidence, meticulousness, and capacity to work independently.
3. High level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive or confidential information effectively.
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities are essential for success in this position.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Freelance, Internship
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
