Overview:
The Hospitality Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in hotel management and related hospitality subjects. This role includes teaching, curriculum development, and guiding students to develop practical skills aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Curriculum Development
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions on hotel management, customer service, event planning, and hospitality operations.
- Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and assessments that support the learning objectives of the hospitality program.
- Continuously update course content to reflect industry trends and best practices.
- Student Mentorship and Support
- Provide academic guidance and career counseling to students pursuing hospitality careers.
- Evaluate and offer feedback on students’ academic and practical performance.
- Supervise student projects and assist with arranging industry-relevant internships.
- Industry Collaboration and Networking
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitality industry professionals to support guest lectures, internships, and job placement opportunities.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure the alignment of program content with industry needs and standards.
- Professional Development and Research
- Engage in professional development activities to stay updated on hospitality industry advancements.
- Participate in research initiatives related to hospitality and hotel management, promoting knowledge and expertise within the program.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management is required. A Master’s degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, or a related field is advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry or in an educational setting teaching hospitality-related courses.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of hotel management and hospitality industry standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital platforms to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in curriculum design and modern teaching methodologies is preferred.
- A collaborative mindset and dedication to providing a supportive learning environment for students.
- Ability to foster students' skills in both theoretical and practical aspects of hospitality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
