KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop, test, and refine CNC programs for multi axis machines to ensure precise, high-quality production with minimized risk. • Modify and optimize CNC programs using advanced CAM software, such as Mastercam and Esprit CAM, to reduce cycle times, enhance tool path efficiency, and improve machining accuracy. • Execute simulations and test runs to verify program accuracy, performing necessary adjustments to meet stringent quality standards. • Identify potential risks in each multi-axis manufacturing project, creating programming strategies to mitigate risks and ensure safe, efficient production. • Integrate safety considerations into all programming and setup processes, adhering to company and regulatory guidelines. • Mentor junior programmers and CNC operators, sharing expertise in multi-axis programming, setup optimization, and troubleshooting. • Review and validate complex engineering blueprints and 2D/3D CAD models to ensure programs meet detailed production requirements. • Translate CAD models into CAM programs, providing accurate prints for manufacturing and sales purposes. • Validate and approve job traveler sequences, ensuring a logical and efficient sequence of operations for production. • Create CNC programs for multi-axis milling machines with minimal guidance, drawing on advanced expertise in multi-axis operations and programming logic. • Maintain the quality and consistency of programming outputs across diverse and complex machining tasks. • Collaborate with machinists and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve programming issues, offering technical support to optimize machining processes. • Conduct simulations to verify program efficiency and accuracy, making program adjustments as needed for optimal functionality and output. • Continuously analyze and enhance multi-axis machining processes, improving setup times, tooling paths, and cutting speeds. REQUIREMENTS - Diploma / Degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, machining or related field is preferred. - At least 5 years of experience in the Precision Industry is preferred. - Certification or formal training in CNC programming and machining operations is highly advantageous. - Proven experience as a CNC Programmer or similar role in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in milling. - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, including AutoCAD, Mastercam, and Esprit CAM. - Proficient in 3D CAD design for translating models into accurate CNC programs. - Strong knowledge of G-code programming, tool path optimization, and CNC programming principles. - Ability to make programming calculations, select appropriate cutting speeds, and optimize tool usage. - High standards for accuracy, quality, and adherence to production specifications. - Capable of creating and executing complex programs with minimal guidance. - Skilled in maintaining accurate records of programs, tool lists, and other critical data for traceability. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
