Job Summary:

The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and learning various culinary techniques. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills and progress within a professional kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces as directed by senior chefs.
  • Cooking Support: Cook basic dishes and support the chefs with specific tasks during service hours.
  • Kitchen Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and food storage.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all prepared food meets quality standards before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Stock Management: Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies, and report inventory needs.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow health, hygiene, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Learning and Development: Show initiative in learning new cooking techniques, dishes, and kitchen operations under the guidance of senior chefs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Culinary training or relevant experience in food preparation.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift heavy objects when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
