PROJECT ENGINEER

Purpose / Mission:

• To ensure the successful execution of engineering projects that align with the company's strategic objectives.
• To manage and oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet specified goals and timelines.
• To provide technical support and expertise in the design, development, and execution of projects.
• To assist on the automation projects that has been approved as well as the upcoming ones.
• To address the shortage of manpower for upcoming projects.

Major Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Driving alignment on priorities across key functions: safety, quality, productivity, people engagement and cost management.
• Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Provide technical expertise in the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions that enhance production processes.
• Oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it meets the plant’s needs and complies with industry standards.
• Review and approve technical designs, specifications, and documentation, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
• Analyze cost estimates and monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle, identifying and addressing variances.
• Report on project financial performance to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and outcomes.
• Negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and oversee contractor performance to ensure project deliverables are met.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials required for projects.
• Lead project meetings, ensuring clear communication of goals, responsibilities, and timelines to all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e. QA, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Innovation, Finance, HR etc.) to deliver company goals/targets.
• Traveling between Tyson Subang Jaya Factory and Tyson Enstek Factory, occasionally when required.

Qualifications/Experience:

• A university Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation)
• Experience in project engineering within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or senior engineering role. Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
