About the Role
We are seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Intern with a Diploma or BSc Degree in Geospatial, GIS, or Remote Sensing. The ideal candidate will be learn in ArcGIS and QGIS software for tasks including data visualization, geoprocessing, map production, and spatial analysis. Responsibilities include GIS processing, digitization, and analysis (e.g., tree count, vacant points, estate boundaries), as well as producing maps. The role also involves preparing GIS maps with accurate symbology and labeling, analyzing and storing geospatial datasets, and ensuring data quality and consistency. Identifying potential errors in tree counts, particularly in oil palm plantations, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Handon's with ArcGIS and QGIS Software. This includes the ability to use these platforms for data visualization, geoprocessing, map production, and spatial analysis tasks.
- Learn to do GIS processing, digitization and analysis such as tree count, vacant points, estate boundaries and produce maps from the GIS software.
- Data processing of UAV imagery from raw data collection to output such as orthorectified imagery, elevation modeling, and point cloud data would be added advantage.
- Preparing GIS Map. This includes choosing appropriate map symbology, ensuring accurate labeling, and creating layouts for visual clarity.
- Preparing, analyzing and storing geospatial data sets for GIS department. Additionally, ensuring data quality and consistency across datasets is critical for reliable analysis.
- Identifying potential errors in tree count, such as misclassified points or artifacts, especially in oil palm plantations.

Pay: RM999.00 - RM1,000.00 per month
