JOB DESCRIPTION FOR EFFLUENT PLANT AND SAFETY ROLE

1. Effluent Treatment Plant (EFP) Management:

• Overview EFP, waste management, and scheduled waste.
• Maintain EFP and keep a checklist of maintenance up to date.
• Ensure EFP process control and improvement.
• Keep data for EFP control parameters and record monthly chemical consumption.
• Perform troubleshooting and rectify any operational failures.
• Conduct daily/weekly water testing and collect final discharge and sewage samples weekly for 3rd party lab analysis.
• Responsible for EFP preventive maintenance with support from the Maintenance Team.
• Manage EFP chemicals stock, including setting minimum stock levels, usage recording, and PR issuing.
• Ensure storage, packaging, and labelling of scheduled waste according to DOE requirements.

2. Safety Management and Compliance:

• Provide advice and support on safety-related matters.
• Monitor the use and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE to ensure they are in good condition and used properly.
• Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Foster a culture of safety within the organization by promoting safe work practices and encouraging employees to report safety concerns.
• Ensure that the company complies with local and national safety regulations and standards, including those set by DOSH in Malaysia.
• Organize and conduct safety and health training programs for employees to ensure they are aware of safety procedures and practices.
• Help develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and recommend improvements or additional safety equipment as needed.
• Maintain and update safety records, including incident reports, safety inspection logs, and training records.
• Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures, conducting drills, and ensuring readiness for emergencies.
• Coordinate with local authorities such as DOE, BOMBA, or JKKP.
• Ensure full compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations (local authority and external customer requirements).
• Issue PPE to line supervisors or respective persons and manage stock.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist in other related duties or ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by your immediate superior.
