An account assistant will support the Account Department by handling various day-to-day accounting tasks, including account reconciliation, processing transactions, and managing accounts receivable. This positions requires a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with accounting systems. The account assistant will work closely with the account team to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations in compliance with college policies. Qualifications: - Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Accounting - 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably with accounts receivable or bank reconciliation tasks. - Proficiency in ABSS/MYOB and MS Office (especially Excel) Key Responsibilities 1) Bank Reconciliation - Prepare and complete bank reconciliation on a regular basis to ensure records are up-to-date and accurate. 2) Accounting Operations - Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including posting and recording transactions in the accounting system. - Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts. 3) Accounts Receivable Management - Handle accounts receivable by tracking, monitoring, and following up on outstanding payments. - Ensure timely collection of receivables and resolve any discrepancies with clients or departments. 4) System Usage - Utilize ABSS/MYOB accounting software for daily financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data entry and reporting. 5) Compliance and Documentation - Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation in compliance with college policies and relevant regulations. - Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation. 6) Additional Duties - Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the account team or department head to support college financial operations. Preferred Skills - Understanding of general accounting principles and practices. - Prior experience with ABSS/MYOB accounting systems in an academic or similar environment. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
