Product Marketing (Senior Executive/ Assistant Manager)

Job Overview:

As a Product Marketing Engineer in the vehicle industry, you will be responsible for bridging the technical and marketing teams to ensure the successful development, launch, and promotion of innovative automotive products. You will work closely with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to communicate product value, conduct market analysis, and contribute to product positioning strategies. Your technical expertise in automotive systems combined with your marketing acumen will help shape product direction and meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure technical specifications align with market needs and customer demands.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer insights, and opportunities for product differentiation.
  • Develop and communicate product positioning, value propositions, and key messaging for new and existing automotive products.
  • Act as the technical liaison between engineering teams and sales/marketing teams, translating complex technical details into clear, customer-friendly language.
  • Assist in product launch activities, including planning, documentation, training materials, and promotional campaigns.
  • Support the sales team with technical expertise during customer meetings, product demonstrations, and trade shows.
  • Analyze product performance data, customer feedback, and market trends to provide recommendations for product improvements or new feature development.
  • Ensure product marketing strategies comply with relevant automotive regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sales, Manufacturing, etc.) to manage product timelines and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Stay updated on automotive industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications or education in marketing or business (MBA is a plus).

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in product marketing, technical sales, or a similar role in the automotive or vehicle industry.
  • Proven experience in product development and launch within the automotive sector.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of automotive systems (drivetrain, electronics, mechanical components, software integration).
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as CAD and experience with product development processes.
  • Ability to analyze market data, customer feedback, and competitive positioning.

Marketing Skills:

  • Experience with market research, product positioning, and competitive analysis.
  • Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to understand market demands and translate them into product specifications.
  • Collaborative team player with cross-functional teams.

Other:

  • Knowledge of automotive regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and collaboration with global teams.
  • Proficiency in English/Malay/Chinese.
