Responsibilities: 1. Document Management -Prepare, proofread, and organize legal documents, including contracts, NDAs, resolutions, and corporate policies. -Maintain physical and digital filing systems for legal records, ensuring compliance with legal standards and ease of access. -Corporate Governance Support. 2. Assist with organizing internal and external discussions and meetings with various partners/stakeholders including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and drafting action plans. 3. Legal Research and Analysis: -Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting corporate activities. -Compile and summarize research findings for the legal team to support informed decision-making. 4. Contract Administration: -Review and organize contracts, track key terms, renewal dates, and obligations to ensure alignment with company policies. -Assist in managing the contract lifecycle, coordinating with internal departments for contract execution and compliance. -Monitor compliance with corporate policies and regulatory obligations, alerting the legal team to potential compliance issues. 5. Administrative and Clerical Support: -Schedule meetings, manage the legal team’s calendar, and handle correspondence with internal departments and external partners/stakeholders. Qualifications: -Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, legal studies, or related field. Candidates should ideally possess a Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or equivalent, or have been admitted to the Malaysian Bar. -Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in active legal practice, ideally within a corporate setting. Skills & Requirement: -Strong understanding of legal terminology, document preparation, and document management systems. Good organizational and time management skills - ability to handle multiple tasks, manage deadlines, and prioritize efficiently. Strong analytical skills with problem-solving abilities. -Attention to details, high accuracy in reviewing documents and handling legal tasks to ensure minimal errors and compliance with legal standards. -Proficient in English (both written and communication) and knowledge of Mandarin as an added advantage. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using legal research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw). -Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. -Competent in legal research and analysis, with the ability to synthesize complex information for decision support. -Independent and possess ability to work effectively with the legal team and other departments, supporting collaborative work in a fast-paced environment. -Knowledge about corporate governance principles, regulatory requirements and compliance standards and corporate policies. -Possess valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
