Roles & Responsibilities of Field Test & Commissioning Engineer:

Undertakes Site Integration, Commissioning, Handover and Start-up activities when a product or system evolution has to be implemented.

Is responsible for testing, commissioning and final integration of the system

Key Contributions:

Prepares product or system tests :

  • Defines test plans and ensures the consistency between test plans and means.
  • Identifies and verifies the means required for testing are present. When required, ensures the specification complements of test means

Ensures tests are properly executed and managed

  • Carries out test at customer site as per test procedures and documents as per contract requirements
  • Performs some PICO testing and assists in Testing and Commissioning activities as required
  • Ensures completeness of tests as well as compilations of evidence against requirements, and ensures traceability of evidences
  • Supports site testing during the integration and commissioning periods
  • Analyses the technical facts, monitors the technical facts lifecycle within the appropriate commissions
  • Undertakes problem solving and troubleshooting as required by commissioning activities
  • Produces validated acceptance files

Supervises and coordinates

  • Ensures all the right considerations for field work with respect to work authorizations are in place (on-board working, air-worthiness, airfield working, ...)
  • Ensures the correct health and safety matters for those environments are complied with
  • Coordinates Thales, customer, supplier, subcontractor teams and their interventions on the system, allocates test slots, monitors schedule
  • Supervises acceptance, integration and commissioning staff
  • Co-ordinates and contributes to the activities of technical specialists of Testing and Commissioning who are on site to perform integration testing, trouble shooting and commissioning testing

Supports training of testing, operations and maintenance staff with respect to the related control system

Reports progress and current status to internal and external stakeholders

  • Provides feedback to the customer
  • Completes progress reports related to Test & Commissioning
  • Maintain site 'punch lists' to satisfy project requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering / Architectural / Civil / Structural / Building Engineering / Construction Management or equivalent
  • Project management experience interest necessary.
  • Ability to and interpret documents such as schematic, technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Independent worker capable of listening, understanding, challenging, deciding, coordinating, and following-up who also works as a supportive team member.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement (quality, cost, Reliability, and customer satisfaction).
