SECONDARY SCHOOL LIBRARIAN

The position of librarian at LFKL brings together all the missions specific to certified librarian teachers of the French National Education, defined by Circular No. 86-123 of 13 March 1986 still in force and specified by BO No. 30 of 25 July 2013 (teacher skills framework): initiation and training of students in documentary research, development of reading, cultural openness, management of the CCC. It is also pointed out that the action of the librarian is closely linked to the pedagogical activity, he/she is required to collaborate with the staff of the school. Beyond the national framework, the mission of the librarian in the establishments of the French education network abroad includes specificities related to the policy of influence and cooperation, the diversity of the public, and finally the distance from the usual resources of the establishments in France. In this way, the librarian puts his entire documentary policy at the service of educational success, which presupposes a minimum knowledge of the academic expectations of each cycle (cycle 3, cycle 4 and high school), but also of the students. It also serves the cultural enrichment of the school community; it is also the first scientific and literary resource for staff for the preparation of lessons.
