All teaching assistants in the primary section report to the Head of Primary and are expected to provide imaginative and dedicated support for teachers and students at KH8 Primary, supporting their development and transition to the senior part of the school. We are looking for inspirational teaching assistants who will put the students’ needs first, and identify with the ethos of this new sister school in Malaysia. Teaching Assistants in KH8 Primary will support in all relevant core areas of the curriculum and perform administrative tasks. Job Description : 1. Providing support, individual and group interventions for identified targeted student. 2. Reinforce lessons presented by reviewing planning with class teacher. 3. Feeding back to class teachers on progress made by students. 4. Leading small phonics groups, as required. 5. Assisting in the creation of materials for curriculum delivery and display boards. 6. Assisting with behavior management within and outside the classroom. 7. Supervising students in the playground and in the canteen. 8. Maintaining student and family confidentiality. 9. Attending regular meetings and training, as required. 10. Maintaining stock supplies and distributing, as required. 11. Leading and assisting in extra-curricular activities. 12. Assisting in off-site trips and visits. 13. Ensuring the safety and security of students at all times. Job Requirements : 1. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology/ Education/ a related field. 2. being a dedicated teaching assistant, supporting all children with their learning. 3. having the capacity to support learning in core subjects. 4. keeping abreast of teaching and learning developments. 5. demonstrating excellent knowledge of EYFS developmental characteristics (for EYFS Teaching Assistants). 6. being fluent in the English language. 7. being effective users of assessment related to the EYFS curriculum (for EYFS Teaching Assistants). 8. understanding the applications of ICT in classroom teaching. 9. being prepared to work with students from many nationalities. 10. having a positive approach to working within school structures. 11. meeting deadlines set by senior colleagues. 12. sharing good practice. 13. setting consistently high expectations for students. 14. proactive communication with relevant classroom teachers. 15. understanding and applying relevant school policies. 16. becoming fully involved in the life of the school. 17. taking part in the School’s staff development program. 18. contributing to co-curricular activities for Primary students. 19. keeping up to date with child protection issues. 20. undertaking any reasonable task as directed by the Head of Primary. 21. attend INSET training courses and taking responsibility for CPD.
