Job Description:
The Kechara Soup Kitchen Society, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to serving the underprivileged communities in Malaysia, is seeking a talented and experienced Research and Grant Proposal Writer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Funding Research and Identification:
- Conduct thorough research to identify local, regional, and international grant opportunities, funding programs, and foundations that align with the mission and objectives of Kechara Soup Kitchen Society.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of potential funding sources and stay up-to-date on the latest grant guidelines, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines.
Grant Proposal Development:
- Work closely with the program managers, and community stakeholders to understand the organization's funding needs and project priorities.
- Conceptualize and craft compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's impact, objectives, and the value proposition for potential funders.
- Ensure proposals adhere to the specific formatting, content, and submission requirements of each funding agency.
- Coordinate with the relevant team to develop accurate budgets and budget justifications for grant applications.
- Proofread, edit, and finalize grant proposals to ensure high-quality submissions.
Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with funding agencies, foundations, and potential donors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries and follow-up communications.
- Provide timely updates to the organization's management on the status of grant submissions and funding decisions.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports, final reports, and other deliverables required by funding agencies.
- Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of awarded grants, including adherence to financial and programmatic requirements.
- Collaborate with the finance and program teams to monitor grant expenditures and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, nonprofit management, public administration) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, or fundraising for nonprofit organisations.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify relevant funding opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives.
- Proficient in budget preparation and financial reporting for grant applications.
- Familiarity with the Malaysian non-profit sector and understanding of the funding landscape.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
