Description About the role: Streamline Games is looking for Real-Time Visual Effects Artists to join our production team and work on our current and future projects. As a Real-Time VFX artist, you will be working both independently and collaboratively with the development team to make the best-looking VFX. The Effects Artist is expected to concept/design effects either in 2D or 3D to convey the design/motion and overall idea to their leads. Responsibilities: Delivering excellence - Work with the Art Director to develop VFX that compliment or enhance the visual style of a project. - Develop stylistically consistent, visually impactful VFX assets through the creative use of particles, geometry, animation, and materials. - Ensure that VFX assets are built efficiently and perform within technical budgets. Communication - Communicates regularly with the Creative Director & Producer regarding the status of current project milestones and initiatives - Obtains guidance and approval from Creative Director as required to advance initiatives and milestones. Team and personal development - Strong collaboration skills with other artists and disciplines. - Work with other VFX artists/engineers to identify and implement art-pipeline optimizations and to create technical benchmarks to be used in production. - Stays current on industry-standard content creation tools and techniques Requirements: - Hands-on experience with game engines (e.g. UE4, Unity3D, etc.) - Good working knowledge of relevant 3D software and plug-in as well as how to optimize for video game hardware (e.g. Maya, 3Ds Max, FumeFx, Rayfire, Realflow etc.) - Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or After Effects or Substance Designer - Good working knowledge of particle driven effects and shader system - Good understanding of node-based shaders and their creation - Basic 3D modelling and UV knowledge - Knowledge of video games industry and awareness of typical video game development processes. - Proficiency in English.
