Lab Assistant (Heavy Lifting Required)

Manage Samples 1. Coordinate sample preparation, sampling, labelling, transportation, storage, and disposal. 2 Store samples correctly following policies and procedures. 3. Coordinate and monitor sample storage conditions. 4. Interpret SDS information for sample handling. Laboratory Operations 1. Ensure compliance of Work Instructions and Safety regulations in the laboratory (Example: wearing of Safety Shoes and respirator mask). 2. Perform testing of metals using XRF, ICP and Fire Assay. 3. Ensure proper day to day maintenance of laboratory equipment. Perform Laboratory Data Analysis and Reporting 1. Verify the accuracy and integrity of laboratory data analysis reports. 2. Review calculated results against estimations and expectations. 3. Analyse trends in test data and calculate results to draw key insights. 4. Document data in accordance with BR Metals requirements. 5. Maintain security and confidentiality of data in accordance with company’s requirements. Assist with New Laboratory Project 1. Engage internal and external stakeholders timely on matters that are impacted by the projects’ processes and outcomes. 2. Coordinate completion of project deliverables within agreed costs, timescale, and resources. 3. Hands on for Precious Metal Recovery and Refining. Skills and Knowledge: 1. At least Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or any other equivalent qualifications, Fresh Grads are welcome to apply. 2. Familiar with ICP-OES and XRF laboratory testing experience is an added advantage. 3. Interest in gold and silver recovery and refining technology. 4. Must be able to converse and read well in English. 5. Able and willing to work in dusty environments. 6. Able to lift at least 10kg of chemicals for purpose of recovery and refining.
