Key Responsibilities Quantity Takeoffs: Accurately measure and calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and site visits. Use various measurement techniques, including traditional methods and advanced software tools. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including direct costs (materials, labor, equipment), indirect costs (overhead, profit), and contingency. Analyze market trends, pricing data, and historical records to ensure accurate cost estimates. Budget Management: Monitor project budgets throughout the construction phase, tracking expenditures and identifying potential cost overruns or savings. Implement cost-saving measures and negotiate with suppliers to optimize project costs. Contract Administration: Review and analyze construction contracts to understand payment terms, variations, and dispute resolution procedures. Prepare and administer variation orders, claims, and final accounts. Procurement Support: Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts. Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure compliance with contract terms. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction project management. Strong understanding of construction principles, materials, and methods. Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Excel). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
