The vital role of a Key Account Manager is to develop and foster loyal, long-lasting relationships with each of our key customers. Hence, a candidate with prior experience in Account Management or Territory Sales will be an advantage. The ideal candidate must have strong account planning and relationship mapping skills. Additionally, experience in managing major national accounts at the head office level should be an asset for a person handling such a critical position.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the LKA/IKA accounts in their portfolio, including promotional strategies to achieve sales targets, executing channel/brand plans, and maximizing return on promotional investments in line with company objectives and strategies.
  • Supervise the development of promotional tactical plans to meet sales and merchandising objectives and ensure effective implementation.
  • Formulate account-specific promotional strategies for each customer in the assigned portfolio to achieve sales targets aligned with sales/brand plans.
  • Other key tasks will include the execution, monitoring, and evaluation of promotional plans. The individual should initiate business reviews with customers on a quarterly basis with key retailers.
  • Work closely with the Marketing department to ensure that distribution, shelf presentation, and merchandising targets are met and consistently maintained.
  • Ensure optimum ROI within allocated promotional funds.
  • Plan, lead, and maximize distribution objectives for existing and new product pipelines.
  • Monitor and control all budgeted expenditure to ensure effective spending and optimize return on investment from allocated funds.
  • Participate in the drafting and lead negotiations on annual trading terms with relevant key retailers.
  • Provide sales forecast input to the procurement department for shipment/production planning.
  • Develop and implement innovative tactical plans jointly with the sales planning and marketing departments to ensure ongoing category development and anticipate future business opportunities.
