Purpose of the Role/Role Overview: The Senior Manager - Finance and Accounts is responsible for leading the financial management, reporting, and strategic planning for the company. This role involves overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, optimizing financial performance, and providing sound financial advice to senior management. The Senior Manager will also manage the accounts team and ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support business growth and sustainability. General /Role Overview: Financial Management & Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies that support the company’s long-term goals. Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to guide the company’s decision- making process. Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditures to ensure the company's financial health and liquidity. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and variance analyses. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, and company policies. Provide detailed analysis of financial performance to the executive team, highlighting risks and opportunities. Ensure the timely submission of financial statements for internal and external audits. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align budgets with strategic objectives. Provide ongoing financial forecasting and variance analysis, adjusting strategies based on performance and market conditions. Monitor expenditures against budgets and ensure financial control systems are in place to avoid overspending. Cost Control & Efficiency: Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for process improvement. Implement financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure efficient use of resources. Oversee financial risk management by implementing internal controls, reviewing financial procedures, and managing compliance. Accounts Management: Lead the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, ensuring efficient management of both functions. Monitor the aging of receivables and ensure timely collections to maintain a healthy cash flow. Oversee the management of payables, ensuring that all vendor payments are accurate and on time while optimizing payment terms. Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of all financial accounts and records. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including corporate tax, GST/VAT, withholding taxes, and other statutory requirements. Prepare and review tax filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Liaise with tax authorities and external consultants on tax-related matters and audits. Audit & Internal Controls: Lead internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and reports are available for audit purposes. Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to prevent fraud, financial misstatements, and ensure compliance with company policies. Implement audit recommendations and continuously monitor the effectiveness of controls. Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the finance and accounts team, fostering a culture of performance excellence and continuous learning. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide opportunities for professional development and growth. Set clear objectives for the finance team and monitor performance against KPIs. Stakeholder Management: Work closely with senior management to provide financial insights that support business decisions. Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax authorities, banks, and financial institutions. Provide financial advice and guidance to other departments to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. Professional Qualifications: ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification. MIA (Malaysian Institute of Accountants) membership.
