In-house engineer

Job Summary: The In-House Engineer for Rebuild Trucks and Vehicles is responsible for the complete overhaul and refurbishment of trucks and other vehicles within the company. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, disassembling and reassembling vehicle components, and ensuring that rebuilt vehicles meet or exceed original performance specifications. The engineer will also work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and customer requirements. Key responsibilities: a) Assisting in audits conducted by government departments. b) Attending matters involving authorities such as CVRAM (Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board) & JPJ (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan) regularly. c) Conducting technical inspections to ensure that all vehicles meet safety, performance & regulatory standards before they are returned to service or handed over to customers. d) Ensuring the company remains in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. e) Knowing the specific technical specifications and limitations for various types of vehicles and machinery. f) Preparing documentation that complies with PPP (Pelan Pengurusan Pembinaan) requirements. Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. - MBOD Certification (preferably). - Proven experience in vehicle mechanics, with a strong background in rebuilding trucks and heavy vehicles. - Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. - Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical, and hydraulic systems. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Working Conditions: - Work is performed in a workshop/factory environment. - May involve lifting heavy parts, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions. - Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
