Job Description: Assistant Production Manager Position: Assistant Production Manager Department: Production Reports to: Production Manager Location: Selayang Job Type: Full-time --- Role Overview The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production deadlines. The role involves coordinating with various teams, monitoring workflow, and contributing to process improvements to maximize productivity and reduce costs. --- Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning and Coordination Assist in planning and scheduling production activities to meet deadlines. Coordinate with departments such as procurement, quality control, and logistics to ensure seamless production flow. Monitor daily production targets and address any delays or inefficiencies. Responsible for observing general workers in order to archive quality target. Responsible for ensuring the packaging materials are in good condition and to report to the production supervisor if any unusual particles or any changes in color or presentation of the semi process are noticed, before taking any action. To record the final production output, quantity of material / packaging damaged and material reject at the end of production. To keep the record of batch manufacturing code according to the material batch number, the batch size, the manufacturing date, the expiry date and the pack size To undertake other related jobs directed by the superior from time to time. 2. Team Supervision Supervise production staff and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Provide training and support to the team to improve efficiency and skill levels. Maintain clear communication between management and the production team. Responsible for controlling workers’ discipline by giving advice and showing good attitude. 3. Quality Assurance Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications. Identify and address quality issues promptly with corrective actions. 4. Process Optimization Analyze production processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste and costs. 5. Inventory Management Monitor raw material usage and ensure adequate stock levels for uninterrupted production. Work closely with procurement to manage supplier relationships. 6. Compliance and Safety Ensure the team complies with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions. 7. Reporting and Documentation Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for review by the Production Manager. Maintain accurate documentation of production activities and performance metrics. --- Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in food technology / biotechnology / nutrition/ production management / industrial engineering / business administration or a related field. Proven experience in a production or manufacturing role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in production management software and tools. Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin (advantage) language. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality control principles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Able to work immediately.
