Job Summary: As a Production Operator at Supermicro, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process across three main stations: Assembly, Testing, and Packing. You will assemble high-performance server and storage solutions from scratch, ensuring that components like the motherboard and chassis are correctly put together. In the Testing phase, you will verify that the assembled servers’ function properly by checking connections and component conditions. Finally, in Packing, you will prepare the servers for shipment after they pass testing. Key Responsibilities: 1. Assembly and Production: • Precise assembly of essential components, including the motherboard, CPU, memory, power supply, AOM, riser card, bracket, chassis, and cabling, to build a complete server. • Utilization of various tools and machinery, such as soldering equipment and testing devices. • Performing visual inspections and quality checks to ensure components meet Supermicro’s standards. 2. Testing and Quality Assurance: • Conducting functional testing to verify all cable connections and detect any issues with parts or functionality. • Ensuring the server operates correctly and meets the required quality standards. 3. Packing for Shipment: • Moving the server to the packing stage once it successfully passes testing. • Applying protective materials to the server to prevent damage during transportation, not just placing it in a box. • Preparing the server for shipment to the customer, reflecting the factory’s commitment to product quality and customer satisfaction. 4. Process and Safety Compliance: • Follow established procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. • Report any safety hazards, malfunctions, or irregularities in equipment and work areas to supervisors. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and production areas. 5. Continuous Improvement: • Stay updated on new procedures, technologies, and best practices in manufacturing and assembly. Qualifications: • High school, Diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred but not required. • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand tools and machinery. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and assembly instructions. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation purposes. • Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching. • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and other conditions.
