The Technician (Operation & Maintenance) will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role involves conducting inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing issues related to electrical and mechanical components of solar power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Monitoring & Maintenance:

- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on solar PV systems and associated equipment.

- Monitor system performance through online platforms and physical inspections, ensuring systems are operating at maximum efficiency.

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system issues related to electrical, mechanical, and communication faults.

2. Electrical & Mechanical Work:

- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new solar PV systems.

- Conduct electrical testing and ensure proper functioning of inverters, transformers, and other electrical components.

- Perform wiring, cabling, and other electrical tasks in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

3. Data Logging & Reporting:

- Record and document maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance metrics.

- Report any major issues or incidents to supervisors and recommend corrective actions.

- Maintain accurate records of parts, tools, and materials used during maintenance and repairs.

4. Safety Compliance:

- Follow all safety protocols and ensure that all tasks are performed in compliance with local safety standards and company guidelines.

- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all operations.

- Identify and mitigate any potential safety hazards in the workplace.

5. Customer Support:

- Provide support and advice to clients regarding system performance and maintenance.

- Address customer inquiries and provide feedback on system conditions.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Diploma or certificate in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering.

- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in the solar industry.

- Skills:

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, and wiring.

- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.

- Familiarity with solar PV systems and monitoring software is an advantage.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and reporting skills.

- Certifications: Electrical Worker Competency Certificate (if applicable) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

- Flexibility to travel to different sites for maintenance and repairs.

- Availability for on-call duties in case of system breakdowns.
