Financial Recordkeeping:- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records by recording transactions in the company’s accounting system.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts for vendors, contractors, and clients.
- Perform data entry for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
Bank Reconciliation:- Reconcile bank statements and company credit card statements against accounting records.
- Monitor cash flow and report discrepancies to senior accountants.
Payroll Support:- Assist with payroll processing by verifying timesheets, employee deductions, and overtime calculations.
- Support the accurate processing of employee wages and tax withholdings in collaboration with HR or external payroll services.
Assist with Financial Reporting:- Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:- Process payments to suppliers and contractors, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with clients regarding outstanding payments.
Tax Compliance:- Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other local/state/federal taxes as applicable.
- Support the team during tax audits and assist in gathering necessary documentation.
Financial Analysis:- Assist senior accountants with financial analysis, such as reviewing and tracking company expenses and profitability.
- Track project costs and provide data to support job costing and project budgeting.
General Administrative and Accounting Support:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial files and records.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to accounting, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
- Support the accounting team in any ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
Experience:- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a construction or service-oriented industry (such as landscaping).
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar) is highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Education:- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Certification in basic accounting (such as Bookkeeping or Junior Accountant certifications) is a plus.
