We are seeking a skilled and experienced Linux Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in RHEL and SUSE Linux, have hands-on experience with AIX troubleshooting, and demonstrate the ability to plan and execute Linux and AIX-related projects. Linux System Administration Manage, configure, and maintain RHEL and SUSE Linux environments. Monitor system health and ensure high availability. 2. AIX Troubleshooting and Support Identify, diagnose, and resolve AIX-related issues. Provide support for AIX systems, ensuring uptime and reliability. 3. System Patching Perform routine system patching for Linux and AIX environments. Plan and execute patching schedules to minimize downtime. Ensure patch compliance by addressing vulnerabilities highlighted by the security team. 4. Secure Access Management Configure and manage secure remote access to servers and network devices. Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies. 5. Web Server Administration Administer and configure web servers such as Apache and Nginx. Optimize web server performance and ensure high availability. 6. Automation and Scripting Automate administrative tasks using custom scripts in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages. Develop and maintain scripts for monitoring, backups, and system health checks. 7. Task Scheduling and Maintenance Schedule routine maintenance and updates using tools like cron or systemd timers. Perform system health checks and ensure all systems are regularly maintained. 8. Security and Compliance Implement and enforce security policies through Linux security modules like SELinux or AppArmor. Collaborate with the security team to remediate vulnerabilities on Linux and AIX systems. 9. Network Configuration Configure and manage network interfaces using tools like ifconfig or ip. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure system networking is optimized. 10. Service Management Manage system services, including starting, stopping, and enabling them with systemctl or equivalent tools. 11. File Sharing and Collaboration Facilitate file sharing between Linux systems over the network using protocols like NFS or Samba. 12. Hardware Management Identify and troubleshoot hardware issues across servers and infrastructure. Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements. 13. Wazuh Monitoring and Troubleshooting Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Wazuh for system monitoring and security alerting. Address and resolve issues flagged by Wazuh alerts. 14. Virtualization Support Manage and troubleshoot virtualization platforms, including VMware, Hyper-V, and Nutanix. Deploy and maintain virtual machines and infrastructure. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Linux system administration, particularly RHEL and SUSE. - Proficiency in AIX troubleshooting. - Proven experience in system patching and vulnerability remediation. - Experience in hardware diagnostics and management. - Familiarity with Apache/Nginx administration and scripting for automation. Skills: - Strong understanding of Linux, AIX, and web server architecture. - Proficiency in patch management tools and processes. - Familiarity with Wazuh configuration and troubleshooting. - Expertise in networking, security, and service management tools. - Proficiency in scripting and automation tools. Preferred Qualifications: - Certifications such as RHCE, SUSE Certified Administrator, or AIX-related certifications. - Experience with IT security standards and compliance. - Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management.
