JOB DESCRIPTION – ASSISTANT ENGINEER (PRODUCTION) 1) Technical Advice on new products Whenever customers come with new products, The Assistant Textile Technical Engineer (Production) will work together with The Textile Technical Engineer to study the product specifications carefully and make sure that he has the suitable machines and adequate machine output / capacity to meet the order specification and delivery requirements before the orders are accepted. This is vital because we have been receiving many new products proposals from existing and potential customers from local and overseas. 2) Determine on Right Machines to used. When an order comes in, The Assistant Textile Technical Engineer (Production) to review which machines are to be suitably used according to the types of yarns raw materials and then, to liase with The Textile Technical Engineer (Production) on the examination result. Depending on availability of the machines, in case wrong machines are engaged, it can result in final yarns and threads products being hairy, snarling, breaking, rupture, etc. and subject our company to rejection, claims and compensation from customers. Therefore, the expertise and right decision of Machines usage is utmost important as we cannot afford to make mistake. 3) Make modification to machines. He should also study and source for new and innovative machines and recommend to management of its necessity to enhance production and quality improvement, etc. 7) Laison with Marketing Department To work closely with Marketing Department to understand the customers’ requirement in terms of machine specifications lead time, quantity, etc. especially for overseas order. The Assistant Textile Technical Engineer (Production) will also have to organise plan and arrange the machine settings etc.
