Job Description

The Food & Beverage Manager will manage the food & beverage operations of Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort and Glenmarie Golf & Country Club to ensure quality service and standards; whilst also responsible to deliver a unique guest experience. In addition, He/She will ensure compliance on regulations concerning health, safety and any other statutory requirements by the local authorities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Manage day-to-day staff requirements, plan and assign work, establish performance and development goals for team, mentor and coach provide regular feedback to manage conflict and performance in the department.
  • Educate and train team on local & safety regulations, ensure team is trained on quality and service standards, provide them with the tools and resources.
  • Ensure all F&B equipment are in operational conditions, facilities including banquet/meeting areas are cleaned and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume.
  • Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals, manage all guest queries, complaints and request courteously and promptly to ensure optimum guest satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Marketing & Communication Manager on food & beverage marketing programmes; monitor local competitors and industry trends. Responsible to review and approve menu design and concepts with the Executive Chef.
  • Ensure proper food & beverage inventory are conducted according to procedures; determine minimum & maximum stocks for all food, beverage, material and equipment
  • Keep up to date on current market trends and local changes that impact guest satisfaction and recommend/implement strategies to be adopted
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget; monitor monthly budget and control expenses focusing on food, beverage and labour costs.
  • Collaborate with the Catering sales team to identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue. Drive promotions that deliver great dining experience with good value.
  • Ensure all revenues streams are handled in a secure manner.
  • Monitor staffing and labour standards to manage costs
  • May also serve as manager on duty.

The minimum qualifications for the position:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management / Catering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading a F&B team in a mid to large scale operation (hotel and banquet).
  • Experience in brand and non-brand experience, strong banquet experience.
  • Renovation/reconceptualization experience is an advantage.
  • A Malaysian with experience working abroad is an advantage
  • Candidate must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills English.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills)
  • Creative and hands on.
  • Willing to work on weekends and holidays if required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
