Job Summary: Responsible to designing, optimizing, and overseeing metal casting processes to ensure metal casting processes to ensure efficient production of high quality components. The engineer ensures that casting processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and the specific requirements of the production environment. Job Description: 1. Design and Optimization of Casting Processes: - Develop, design, and optimize metal casting processes, including die-casting, sand casting, investment casting, or permanent mold casting, based on the type of metal being used and the product requirements. - Select the appropriate casting method and materials to meet product specifications in terms of quality, strength, durability, and cost efficiency. 2. Process Control and Manufacturing: - Monitor the metal casting process during production to ensure it adheres to set parameters and maintains high standards of quality. - Analyze process data, troubleshoot issue and implement solutions to prevent defects like porosity, cracking, and miscasting. 3. Material Selection and Alloy Management: - Choose suitable metals and alloys based on their properties and the requirements of the finished product. - Oversee the preparation of metal blends and ensure proper mixing and quality of molten metal. 4. Quality Control and Inspection: - Conduct inspection and test on cast product to ensure that meet design specifications and industry standards. - Implement corrective actions based on defect analysis and ensure that quality control measures are followed throughout the production processes. 5. Process Improvement and Cost Reduction: -Continuously seek ways to improve the casting process by reducing waste, improving material yield, and enhancing production efficiency. - Evaluate new casting technologies, material, and methods to improve overall performance and sustainability. 6. Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with other engineersmachine operators, furnace operators, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of the casting process with other stages of manufacturing. - Provide guidance and trainining to other staff on best practise and new technique to improve process operations.
