CASTING MACHINE TECHNICIAN

Job Summary: Responsible for operating, maintaining and troubleshooting castinng machinery used in the production of metal or alloy components. This role ensures the efficient and safe operation of the casting machines, adherence to quality standards, and timely production output. The technician also performs regular inspections, makes adjustments, and collaborates with the maintenance team to prevent equipment downtime. Job Description: 1. Operation of Casting Machine: - Operate and monitor casting machines (e.g., die-casting, sand casting, or investment casting) during production runs to ensure proper functioning and production of high quality product. - Set up machines by adjusting settings, such as temperature, pressure, and speed, to meet production requirements. 2. Machine Maintenance and Repairs: - Perform regular maintenance on casting machines to keep them in optimal working condition, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components. - Troubleshoot and repair any machine malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production flow. 3. Monitoring and Quality Control: - Monitor the casting process to ensure consistency and quality, checking for defects such as air bubbles, cracks, or improper filling of molds. - Inspect finished products for compliance with specifications, ensuring dimensions and surface quality meet standards. 4. Safety and Compliance: - Ensure that casting operations are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe working practices to prevent accidents and injuries. 5. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: - Identify issues in the casting process, such as poor mold filling or material defects, and take corrective action. -Work with engineers and supervisors to resolve technical problems and optimize the casting process.
