PAPER MILL TECHNOLOGIST

Paper engineers ensure an optimal production process in the manufacture of paper and related products. They select primary and secondary raw materials and check their quality. In addition, they optimize machinery and equipment usage as well as the chemical additives for paper making. Job Description: 1. Process Optimization: - Analyze and optimize paper manufacturing processes, including, pulping refining, sheet formation, drying and finishing stages. - Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency reduce waste, and minimize energy consumption. 2. Quality Control: - Monitor and maintain quality control througout the paper production processes. - Conduct regular tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and final paper to ensure they meet the required specifications for strength, texture and moisture content. 3. Research and Development: - Lead efforts in research and development to improve paper products, processes and technologist. - Experiment with new materials chemicals, and technologies to enhance paper quality and reduce environmental impact. 4. Machine and Equipment Monitoring: - Oversee the operations and maintenance of papermaking machinery, including the Fourdrinier machine, presses, and dryers. - Troubleshoot with technical issue machinery and collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime. 5. Sustainability and Environmental Compliance: - Ensure the paper mills adhere to environmental regulations and sustainability goals. - Implement practices to minimize waste, optimize water and energy use, and reduce carbon emissions in the production process. 6. Data Analysis and Reporting: -Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies and areas for improvement. - Provide regular reports on production performance, quality control, and machine efficiency for senior management.
