JOB ROLE AND FUNCTIONS
An advertising agency general manager is responsible for every function of the agency: business development, client strategy and direction, creative, production, media planning and buying, research, digital, HR, finance and legal. Each department has unique responsibilities, and the employees have unique skill sets and personalities. The GM has to balance the often-competing agendas of the agency, clients and competition, and in the end have happy clients and a profitable agency.
DETAILED KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Agency Sales and Business Development
- Lead Agency pitches to prospective clients and grow agency top line revenue.
- Create strategic proposals to promote services.
- Front end and manage the client relationship.
- Scan for marketing opportunity and participate in tenders/pitches to attract high value agency projects.
- Manage every communication element of advertising and marketing including but not limited to creative, copy, layouts and production but will also be financially profitable.
- Manage service providers, suppliers and onsite requirements.
- Meticulously run day to day operations of a full service Integrated Ad Agency, supervise the team’s output and troubleshoot problems and issues.
- Manage the Finance Strategy by coordinating overall budget process, annual budget plan and taking responsibility for achieving the agreed profitability and monthly targets.
- Manage the Marketing Strategy by image building, corporate communications, and brand projection to rapidly grow company’s exposure to both corporate and government sector.
- Manage the HR & Admin Strategy by training and developing the team to learn and adapt to the latest advertising trends, improving quality of proposals and evaluate employees’ work performance.
2. Manage departments and mentoring
- Oversee job cards, daily work sheets, all design and creative content, website development and conceptualization.
- Approve all peripherals being created for events and external clients.
- Develop and implement ideas to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
3. Meet GP and sales target by providing great leadership and guidance for team to services current clients
4. Proactively guide team to generate and establish new organic growth/ clientele by identifying new business opportunities
5. Identify new opportunities and generate growth for the team GP (new client and avenue)
6. Lead and manage sales and GP operational activities including but not limited to diagnosing issues, anticipating risk and restore the company balance.
7. Manage the team with superior leadership quality in terms of monitoring and guidance to deliver
8. Develop the team towards achievement of wholistic goals (personal growth & KPI realization)
9. Maintain good relationships with client to understand their business and providing promotional direction
10. Cooperate and collaborate with Creative for quality and timely delivery of output
11. Ensure current clients are happy with the service by consistently providing new ideas
12. Manage the team with superior leadership quality in terms of monitoring and guidance to deliver
13. Provide support to MD in budgetary planning, reporting and maintaining the budget for the company.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Minimum qualification:
The candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of having managed a profitable, commercially driven agency with advertising and marketing experience in the areas of lead generation, collateral development, brand building and online advertising.
Experience level: At least 12 years of related experience
Required skills: Exposure in an international advertising agency
Other necessary skills: Aggressive and result oriented, Good interpersonal and client care skills, Computer skills

Pay: RM20,000.00 - RM22,000.00 per month
