We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Teacher Trainer to support the successful implementation of our newly developed ESL curriculum for kindergarten and primary school students. The Teacher Trainer will play a pivotal role in providing professional development, training, and ongoing support to teachers to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ESL pedagogy, effective training methodologies, and a commitment to supporting teachers in their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Training
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on the new ESL curriculum, covering its key components, teaching strategies, and assessment methods.
- Tailor training sessions to meet the specific needs and experience levels of teachers.
- Facilitate interactive workshops, demonstrations, and group activities to enhance teacher understanding and engagement.
- Provide guidance on integrating the curriculum into existing classroom practices.
Teacher Support
- Offer ongoing support to teachers through classroom observations, coaching, mentoring and feedback sessions.
- Provide individual guidance and resources to address specific teacher needs and challenges.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment for teachers.
Professional Development
- Design and deliver professional development workshops on relevant topics such as ESL methodology, classroom management, and assessment.
- Encourage teachers to participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities.
Curriculum Evaluation
- Collect and analyze feedback from teachers on the curriculum materials and training programs.
- Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for curriculum revisions.
Curriculum Implementation
- Monitor the implementation of the curriculum in schools and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to ensure successful adoption and use of the curriculum.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, TESOL, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in teacher training and professional development, preferably in the context of ESL education.
- Strong understanding of ESL pedagogy and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt training materials and approaches to meet diverse learning styles, skill levels and needs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Passion for supporting teachers and promoting student success.
Desired Skills
- Experience in curriculum development or implementation.
- Knowledge of specific ESL teaching frameworks or methodologies.
- Experience working in multilingual or multicultural educational settings.
Work Environment
- The position may involve collaboration with a diverse team, including educators, subject matter experts, and designers.
- Flexibility to work remotely or on-site, depending on the project’s needs.
Job Highlights
- 8 days of annual leave and 14 days of sick leave.
- Mentoring and job development provided.
Location & Working Hours
- Location: Butterworth, Penang.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Holidays: 11 Public Holidays observed.
