GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION The laboratory technician job objectives are to complete the project work assigned by Associate Director / Manager / Chemist in accordance to the project timings and Design and Development Control SOPs. He/She shall ensure good practices in the assigned workplace such as research laboratories and manufacturing plants. RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES • To carry out laboratory tests on raw materials, dipping solutions and finished products and relevant work as per project protocol • To label all samples clearly, and to record all information on the sample, testing procedures, experimental observations and results in a research notebook • To follow Safety, Health and Environment procedures at all times at work • To support and assist chemist as and when required such as during plant trials and process validation • To summarise and tabulate results systematically for analysis and write reports if required • To practice the Quality Systems adopted by the company and to conform to regulatory requirements, whenever relevant company business • To acquire job-related knowledge continuously for job performance improvement • To assist chemists with laboratory management such as chemical control, equipment calibration, waste handling, housekeeping and filing. • To assist fellow technicians when required as per request from Associate Director and Chemist • To protect confidentiality of information related to the company work such that no unauthorised person could assess to it • To cooperate with manufacturing and other cross functional team on project execution. • To liase with raw material and/or equipment suppliers when advised to do so by immediate superior, i.e. Chemist/ Manager / Associate Director • To know, understand and practice GLP all the time when working and conducting experiment at laboratory • To maintain high level of housekeeping
