Role and Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop a comprehensive curriculum for Bahasa Malaysia. Ensure the curriculum is well-rounded, addressing language acquisition skills, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Bahasa Malaysia that introduce students to fundamental language skills and cultural contexts.
- Practical Applications: Incorporate project-based learning and real-life scenarios into the curriculum. This could involve activities such as role-playing, interactive language games, and cultural explorations.
- Technology Integration: Demonstrate how technology can enhance the learning of Bahasa Malaysia.
- Digital Literacy: Teach students how to use digital resources responsibly for language learning.
- Assessment and Grading: Evaluate students’ language proficiency and performance through various assessments, quizzes, projects, oral presentations, and written assignments. Provide constructive feedback and assign grades based on clear and consistent criteria.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable practicing the language.
- Cultural Awareness: Introduce students to the cultural aspects of Bahasa Malaysi speaking communities.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in language education, teaching methodologies, and digital tools.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field
- Previous teaching experience in an international school setting is an advantage.
- Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia with strong proficiency in both written and spoken forms.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition and the ability to teach complex language concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
- Familiarity with technology to support language learning, including digital language apps, online resources, and interactive language exercises.
- Knowledge of international curricula for Bahasa Malaysia.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a communicative and immersive learning environment that encourages active language practice and cultural understanding.
- Commitment to professional growth and a willingness to integrate new teaching practices, technologies, and methodologies in language education.
