We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our bakery team in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining product displays, and ensuring the bakery section runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide product recommendations and information to customers regarding bakery items.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Offer samples and upsell bakery products where appropriate.
  • Product Knowledge:
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of bakery products, including ingredients, allergens, and production methods.
  • Ensure the bakery products are properly displayed and stocked, ensuring freshness.
  • Assist customers in choosing the right products based on their preferences or dietary needs.
  • Stock Management:
  • Ensure bakery products are correctly labeled with prices and clear descriptions.
  • Monitor product stock levels and inform the supervisor when new stock is needed.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Cash Handling:
  • Operate the till efficiently, process payments, and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
  • Issue receipts, provide change, and ensure the correct transactions are recorded.
  • Cleanliness & Hygiene:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping display cases and shelves tidy.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times, ensuring that products are handled and stored correctly.
  • Assist in cleaning bakery equipment and ensuring the bakery section remains sanitized.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations in the bakery section.
  • Assist in stock replenishment and other tasks as needed.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable (preferably in a bakery or food-related setting).
  • Basic knowledge of bakery products and food hygiene regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Friendly and approachable with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks such as lifting trays or stocking shelves.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires standing for extended periods and lifting bakery items.
  • Shifts may vary, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,600.00 - RM2,000.00 per month

Schedule:

Supplemental Pay:

  • Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Bukit Bintang: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • STM/STPM (Preferred)
