Job Description
We are looking for a Global OEM Technical Consultant to be based in Penang or Puchong, Kuala Lumpur. You will join the team which is dedicated for machinery application technique.
You are responsible for technology adoption and support for OEMs (Machine/ Equipment builders). Typical activities include presales, proof of concept programming, control system design review, technical presentation, application notes development and application best practices mentoring.
We have multiple domain knowledge of the industry and applications being served along with in-depth knowledge of the Rockwell Automation products, technology and system architecture to provide domain level expertise consulting.
Your Responsibilities:
- Proof of concept development, design review and recommendation, document and present the solution Machine/Process Skid Builder
- Define task and accomplish these according to the agreed timeline
- Support customer in all stages of a project
- Create customer knowledge that the OEM can own, support and improve application/systems
- Implement projects in parallel
- Extract all relevant information for the given tasks to create a solution
- Demonstrate judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Responsible for successful conversion by usage of relevant RA resources where needed
- Create customer to promote Rockwell as their standard
- Ensure transferring Rockwell Solution knowledge to Customer team / Internal GOTC team.
- Provide support for Southeast Asia OEM Team and reporting to GOTC Team lead SEA.
- Ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Engineering degree or equivalent with typically 5+ years of control and/or automation system experience
- General knowledge of automation control systems and computer technology.
- Application experience with advanced motion applications/ process control/ IIOT/ Robotics motion control.
- Well-developed troubleshooting abilities
- Experience working with multicultural customers and the successful resolution of their unique requirements
- Work both as a multicultural team and standalone
- Willingness to travel within South East Asia
- Fluency in English and Local Language
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Experience of Rockwell Automation main products: PLC, Motion Control, Operator Interface, Communications, I/O, presence sensing, Safety and software
- Have assembly, automotive, semiconductor and life science machinery background
