JR67831 SIG Quality Engineer

As a Back End Site Quality Engineer at Micron, you will work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Corporate QMS, QRA, Central Teams, Product Engineering, and other areas to develop a best in class quality culture and drive improvements in Micron’s quality. You will be responsible for reducing variation and driving resolution to deviations in the back end manufacturing areas. In addition, you will work with business partners and key stakeholders to develop strategies for continuous improvement in product quality and process controls and provide support for customer related issues and activities.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Improve Performance and Reduce Deviations

  • Drive site focus on improving performance variation and reducing deviations that impact product quality
  • Promote and drive projects and business processes that will reduce overall process and equipment variation
  • Implement, promote and utilize effective problem solving tools and techniques to drive closure on deviations.
  • Develop, manage, and/or communicate quality line of site metrics and goals
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality metrics

Develop and Implement Quality Control Systems

  • Develop and implement process quality controls and systems to ensure timely and effective detection and management of deviations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a Quality Management System

Support Management Initiative and Customer-Related Activities

  • Support strategic vision and quality program/project management Initiatives
  • Provide support for customer related activities (i.e. audits, visits, presentations, reports, requests etc.)
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of internal quality tools, quality concepts, ISO 9001, ISO TS 16949, and Micron’s Quality Manual

Adhere to and Promote Safety

  • Identify and promptly report hazards
  • Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturer’s and company guidelines
  • Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner

Requirement:

  • Open for Fresh graduate or less than 2 years experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • The ability to interpret and effectively resolve complex, technical or ambiguous requests and problems
  • Previous experience in Quality, Process or Product engineering (preferred)
  • An in-depth understanding of process flows, controls and interactions, and how process changes and defect mechanisms can affect yield, performance, and reliability
  • A solid understanding of SPC
  • Strong data analysis and data interpretation skills
  • Good multi-tasking and effective problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience coordinating engineering efforts across many different project groups.
