Responsibilities: Source, negotiate, and purchase high-quality ingredients, spices, and supplies for the Indian restaurant. Maintain good relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries and favorable terms. Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed to prevent shortages or excess. Work closely with the chef and management to develop and update menus based on ingredient availability and pricing. Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all purchasing activities. Review invoices and reconcile discrepancies with suppliers. Optimize purchasing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Coordinate with kitchen staff to forecast ingredient needs and plan purchases accordingly. Keep accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
