Food technologists develop processes for manufacturing foodstuffs and related products based on chemical, physical, and biological principles and technology. They design and plan layouts or equipment, oversee staff, engage in controlling, and improve food technologies  in food production processes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE 1) Lead technical projects related to the development of in-house product for a specific market or customer. 2) Responsible for new product development from initial research through the developmental stage and into scale up of commercial activity. 3) Organize and conduct pilot line trials. 4) Organize and conduct production line trials. 5) Propose production enhancements for production technology as necessary. 6) Determine customer requirements and translate them into product development goals. 7) Analyze data to derive interferences on product changes and communicate to marketing and R&D groups. 8) Report and analyze product specifications.
