Role and Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop a comprehensive performing arts and music curriculum that integrates practical performance and music.
  • Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in music and performing arts.
  • Practical Applications: Provide students with hands-on experience in creating and performing music and theatre.
  • Technology Integration: Incorporate music and performing arts technology into the curriculum.
  • Assessment and Grading: Evaluate students’ understanding and performance through various assessments. Provide constructive feedback and assign grades based on clear criteria, encouraging students to develop their creative and technical skills.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable exploring their creativity, taking risks in performances, and collaborating with peers. Create an environment that promotes respect, discipline, and constructive critique, especially during rehearsals and performances.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in performing arts education, teaching methodologies, and new technologies in music and theatre. Attend workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Performing Arts or a related field (required).
  • Previous teaching experience in an international school setting is an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in music (instrumental and/or vocal), as well as an understanding of music theory, composition, and performance techniques.
  • Experience in theatre and drama (acting, directing, stage management) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with using technology in music and performing arts.
  • Knowledge of international curricula in music and performing arts is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster a creative, performance-oriented learning environment that encourages self-expression, confidence, and artistic exploration.
  • Commitment to professional growth and the ability to integrate new teaching practices, technologies, and methodologies in music and performing arts education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From RM3,000.00 per month
