SITE SAFETY SUPERVISOR

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Safety Supervisor to oversee and enforce safety measures on a construction site for a data center project in Johor Bahru. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all safety regulations, manage the Permit to Work (PTW) system, and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Compliance:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) and local safety regulations.
• Enforce safety policies, procedures, and practices on-site.

Permit to Work (PTW) Management:

• Coordinate and manage the PTW system for all high-risk activities such as hot works, working at height, electrical works, and confined space entry.
• Review and approve PTW applications to ensure all safety measures are in place before work begins.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all PTWs issued.

Hazard Management:

• Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation plans.

Training and Awareness:

• Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for workers.
• Promote a culture of safety and awareness among all site personnel.

Inspections and Audits:

• Perform routine site inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Prepare and submit safety reports and audit findings.

Incident Management:

• Respond promptly to accidents or safety incidents, conduct investigations, and prepare detailed reports.
• Recommend and implement preventive actions to avoid recurrence.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, permits, and inspection logs.
• Liaise with government authorities and external auditors during site visits or inspections.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Yellow Book Certification (Site Safety Supervisor Competency): Mandatory.
• Proven experience in managing and coordinating a Permit to Work (PTW) system.
• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Additional relevant certifications such as scaffolding competency, first aid, or confined space entry are an advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Site Safety Supervisor in construction, preferably in data center or similar projects.
• Familiarity with Malaysian safety regulations and standards.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in preparing safety documentation and reports.
