Department Overview

We productize and integrate video solutions, vehicle intelligence, video and audio analytics and sensor systems to solve for a safer community. Our teams bring to life highly innovative end-to-end products, including AI-powered weapons detection, license plate recognition and even a remote drone piloting system. We are also responsible for the creation and continuous development of both Cloud and on-premise software for the MSI portfolio.


Job Description

  • Manage and set priority for a sizable engineering project from concept to design through implementation and release, including staffing allocation, project management and documentation for multiple products concurrently.

  • Provide leadership and take ownership of the tasks assigned to the team and engage the team to work together across teams/sites.

  • Drive continuous improvement in process and innovative approach in development and solve any nagging problems which impact performances of the team.

  • Coach team members on software development skills, efficiency improvement, leadership responsibilities and help guide their professional development to grow their careers

  • Lead, inspire, and advocate for a team of high performing engineers to do their best work

  • Work closely with highly professional Global team across organization including electrical, acoustic, other software engineering teams to develop new features and products that delight our customers

  • Drive innovation projects/patents.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic/ Telecommunications Engineering with at least 6-10 years working experience. At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development and 3 years of leading teams.

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively across multiple management levels with cross site organizations.

  • Experience with Linux /RTOS/Android system platform development including Linux Kernel and board bring up for new hardware platforms, device driver development, memory, sensors and power management.

  • Working knowledge of modern CPU architectures, such as ARM based SoCs, and WiFi, Bluetooth and cellular chip architectures, as well as data link and network layer protocols.

  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Git, C/C++ and Assembly language.

  • Experience in various debugging techniques for embedded systems and possess strong analytical skills.

  • Well-versed in Agile Software Development

  • Candidates must be willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
