Job Description

  • Responsible as a system lead for conducting comprehensive investigations to develop a cost-effective, reliable, and high-quality instrumentation system that meets project requirements and expectations.
  • Provide technical expertise in system engineering principles and their applications to cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless interpretation and translation into design intent.
  • Understand the project's performance, functionality, form, fit, quality, reliability, robustness, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements. Work closely with cross-functional teams to generate implementable Design Inputs that can be translated into Design Outputs, ensuring adequate prototype evaluation, research, analysis, and simulation.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact, representing the project team in liaising with, reporting to, and updating key stakeholders.
  • Develop an executable test architecture and strategy to systematically implement the test plan, verifying the product’s quality, functionality, performance, reliability, and robustness as per the agreed requirements and expectations.
  • Act as a key reviewer to approve the test plan and test cases. Supervise test execution from a compliance and quality perspective.
  • Lead product risk assessments using established tools (e.g. FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis) to understand anticipated design risks and create action plans to mitigate and contain those risks.
  • Lead the team in investigating failures, performing Root Cause Analysis with professional tools, and managing, tracking, and monitoring design/project issues. Ensure proper closure of issues with actions at the required project stages.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to facilitate the transition and transfer of product design to full production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Typically, 10 years of experience in R&D, NPI or Test Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of basic electronic (DMM, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc.), and mechanical (positional, cyclic, temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, altitude, etc.) testing methodology.
  • Experience with the design/ testing of automated equipment, robotics, and other instrumentation is an added advantage.
  • Good depth of experience in FMEA or other failure prevention techniques.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills coupled with a detailed approach to root cause failure analysis.
  • Good organization, planning, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Able to adapt well to a dynamic working environment, eager to learn new knowledge, and able to work independently.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
