Job Overview: The Full-Time Announcer will be responsible for delivering clear, effective, and engaging announcements within the hypermarket to assist with customer service, provide store information, and promote in-store promotions, events, or policies. This individual will play a key role in creating a positive and informative shopping experience for customers while supporting the operational flow of the hypermarket. Key Responsibilities: Public Announcements: Make routine announcements to customers, including store hours, promotions, new arrivals, sales, and emergency information. Use the store’s PA (public address) system to communicate effectively with customers throughout the store. Ensure announcements are clear, concise, and delivered in a friendly and professional tone. Customer Assistance: Announce customer service information, including special requests, lost-and-found items, or paging customers for assistance. Provide announcements regarding store safety procedures, emergency evacuations, or any important events or activities occurring within the store. Event Promotion: Actively announce ongoing in-store events, product demonstrations, seasonal promotions, or discounts. Inform customers about loyalty programs, contests, and special offers. Customer Engagement: Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner. Be approachable and assist customers in navigating the store as needed. Promote a welcoming shopping environment by maintaining a positive, energetic presence. Work closely with store management and department heads to coordinate announcements related to store activities, operational changes, or emergencies. Assist with organizing in-store promotions and marketing campaigns, ensuring timely and accurate communication to customers. Adherence to Store Policies: Ensure that all announcements comply with store policies, regulations, and the company’s brand voice. Maintain a professional and neutral tone in all communications, free of inappropriate language or bias. Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by store management to support day-to-day store operations. Skills and Qualifications: Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills. Ability to speak clearly, with a pleasant tone and volume suitable for large spaces. Proficiency in using public address systems and microphones. Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact positively with diverse customers. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations. Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with operating public address systems, microphones, and related audio equipment. Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues with sound equipment. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in announcements and information delivery. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility to adapt to changes in store operations, promotions, and customer needs. Interpersonal Skills: Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues and customers. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience & Education: Education: High School diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in communications or public relations is a plus.
